In the endless-seeming and undulating terrain of grass-covered hills, where there are few trees to find shelter beneath and to hide from predators, it is in these times that friendship becomes an aspect of survival.
As two wild horses share a grazing spot amidst the adversities of survival, Wild Friends reminds us that when we too come together as one in the face of misadventure, triumph is always possible. With this piece, I wanted to emphasize the dark and light fur colours of the subjects as this type of detail magnifies their appearance – and by adding grass in the foreground promoted the sense of setting I desired to achieve. Resulting in a compelling outcome.
